Rain Rain, Go Away...

This drizzly weather is making me crazy! This is what I want:

But for now, I'll just stick with what I've got, which is probably what's best for me: a day off to focus on stuff I need to get done inside, i.e. cleaning and laundry.
In other news, our ward boundaries are being reorganized. Aside from not seeing some really great people every Sunday, this means I probably won't be in the young women's program anymore! When I became a Beehive leader, I was more than apprehensive. Never having been in the program, I was afraid I would do something wrong. However, my girls welcomed me with open arms and have become some of my very favorite people. They have taught me so much about gaining a testimony of truth and goodness. I only wish I had jumped in more whole-heartedly. Maybe somehow I'll still weasel my way into going to girls' camp this summer...?

To Do:

  • get Washington driver's license
  • turn in passport papers
  • get student visa
  • find an apartment in England
  • work on Personal Progress (and pretend our ward boundaries aren't changing)
  • work out!
  • do that thing for that person who reads my blog and can't know about the thing
  • write to Nellie on her mission
  • find my camera cord
  • call Bro. H's office and make an appointment
  • make swift work of the lingering laundry...

Never start looking for cheap deck-decorating ideas. You'll get carried away...

Look at the message-in-a-bottle name cards!

If you look close, there are jars hung with candles from the trellis!

A Birthday

So my father-in-law turned the big 5-2 on Tuesday. In celebration, we drove Neil's new Mercedes (a 90's boat of a car we've nicknamed Air Force One for all the gadgets) to Couer D'Alene and had some of the best steak I've ever set my knife to at The Wolf Lodge. It's this very rustic, no-frills restaurant, where you watch the cook wrestling with the steaks on the grill in the middle of the room. The kind of place for real men, who have never tasted quiche. The kind of place where (I kid you not) when two men almost bump bellies passing on the way to the john, they literally close their eyes, scrunch their foreheads, and grunt at each other while nodding their heads. During my visit to the restroom, I was reading the many scribbles etched into the walls of my cozy cabin stall. Most were of the "J + K" persuasion. Like hundreds of them. The very last one I saw read, "I think my date is gay...waah!"

A good time was had by all.

Spring at last.

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday; this is the birth
of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
any--lifted from the no
of all nothing--human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

Whew!

Sorry to leave you in suspense, but I can't blog about my secret project... Yes, Annie, it is French. Mom/Dad, no comment. Megan, I wish! I'll let you know in a week or so.

So I just finished our FAFSAs! That's the kind of stuff I hate, and I'm sure glad it's done. And now, I'm going to enjoy a beautiful spring day! A walk? A run? Lying in the sun with my puppies? A little yoga? Yes, please!

Putting off doing something...

Right now, I'm procrastinating. I'm putting off doing something kind of exciting and kind of scary...

Here are a few hints:
  • it has nothing to do with babies.
  • it has to do with food
  • and money
