I was just reading old blog entries about all the fun stuff Jesse and I used to do together. I miss those days. This work schedule is taxing. But I know I get the better deal. I get to spend my evenings with this snuggle bug. And this is temporary. And we have everything we need. We love you, Daddy!

Do Not Eat the Ducks.
A few days ago, we took Daniel to Lithia Park in Ashland. It felt good to get out, even if we were a little stressed after Jesse's work week.
So Jesse was getting Daniel ready for bed, and he barges into the bathroom to ask me if I want Danny to wear his sweatpants to bed. I said, "uh...yes?" and this is what he shows me.

Spring!
Thank goodness for spring. Each year, I get closer to fooling myself into thinking I like winter. I psych myself up about hot chocolate and blankets and chunky sweaters (on my pinterest board, at least) and hibernation. But then there are days when hot chocolate makes you fat, blankets are inconvenient, you can't afford chunky sweaters, and people need you to not sleep for 4 months. But, opposition in all things, right? Anyway, all this rambling brings me to this: the view from our bedroom this morning.

New Firsts
Baby Daniel has had some new firsts lately:
He's getting his first little mole on his right wrist.
I just watched him roll from back to front for the first time this morning.
He had his first non-family babysitter last night while I went to the temple with our young women and Jesse worked. Thank you, Sage! It felt so weird to be the one leaving the emergency numbers.
Daniel attempted his first solid(ish) food: rice cereal. This was about a month ago. It's just a hunch, but I'm thinking he was a little confused. I think we'll try again this week.
Also, first love.

Jesse turns 30.
Last year I forced Jesse to bungee jump out of a hot air balloon. And we found out we were pregnant. On the same day.
The year before that, we were in Ireland.
How could we possibly top those for Jesse's big 3-0? Perhaps a surprise Thorson family (and Sarah, of course) Nerf war/Hook food fight? We loved seeing everyone. Thank you so much for traveling all that way!

Jesse's cousin Steph turned 30 just a few days before.
Just when he though the fun was over...

Stuff I was too busy/tired to post but want to look back on all the time
Jesse and his new friend
Not sure if I'm talking or pushing...
This was the hardest day. We couldn't hold him and we were trying to figure out insurance crap. But even on the hardest day, we knew he'd be ok. I'm pretty grateful for that.
Can you believe how small and cute a butt can be?
He was uber fuzzy when he was born.
My favorite nurse, Letti. First bath.
