Halloween: Danny at 1 month

I can't believe this grunty, tooty, 8 pound boy should still be inside me for another 2 weeks. Daniel's still having problems coordinating sucking, swallowing, and breathing when he eats. Once he gets that down, we can go home. No guesses on when, but by his due date for sure. They kick them out at 40 weeks. Happy Halloween!

Daniel Atticus Thorson

Our little man decided to come early on October 1st at 12:04 p.m. 6 weeks early, but he is doing incredibly well. He's still in the NICU, but once he gets this eating thing down, we'll be out of here. He's gaining about 2 ounces a day and hit a hefty 6 pounds a few days ago.

We're absolutely in love with this guy. He's a very nice guy! So mellow and easy-going. He loves baths and his pacifier and snuggling. And tooting. But mostly he sleeps.

Our nurses have been amazing. They've made our time here really special. Still, we can't wait to finally be a family at home.

They had us deliver in the O.R. because of its proximity to the NICU. Jesse's sporting the scrubs pretty well. This was about 45 minutes before he was born.

About 10 minutes after Daniel was born. The nurses brought me this picture on Jesse's phone while I was being "fixed up."

Jesse made sure I was the first one to hold him.

 Daddy.

Daniel outgrew this hat after a couple days.

He might have his daddy's nose, but this is a mommy face.

Auntie Annie and Auntie Sarah came for what they thought was a baby shower, but turned out to be a baby. They were amazingly wonderful and cleaned our house and washed all our baby clothes and cooked us dinners. So glad they could come.
